Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati, Assam is established in the year 2009 as per Act "The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Act, 2007". It is the only Health University in the North Eastern Region with its jurisdiction to the whole of Assam. The University is situated in Gauhati Medical College Building (2nd Floor) at Narakasur Hill Top, Bhangagarh, Guwahati. Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences aims to create, uphold and develop an academic, philosophical, intellectual and physical environment for the free flow of ideas and exchange of information amongst various Faculties of the University. It is established for uniformity in standards of education in all faculties of Health Sciences. Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Courses The courses offered by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences varies from MBBS, MD, MS, MCh, Bachelor of Dental Science, Master of Dental Science, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, B.Sc Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, etc. Depending upon the colleges affiliated under SSUHS, the courses are divided into various fields of science. Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Admission Process Candidates are required to sit for national and state level medical and pharmacy entrance exams such as NEET, NEET MDS, GPAT for admission in various medical colleges in Assam. Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Exam Pattern MBBS, BDS: The MBBS and BDS courses are held for a duration of five years, which includes one year internship. B.A.M.S. and B.H.M.S: The B.A.M.S. and B.H.M.S courses are held for a duration of five and half years, which includes one year internship. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT): The BPT courses are held for a duration of 4 years 6 months, including 6 months of internship.
